Welcome to the Lesson Room...click on any of the four activities.

NB: We would like to draw your attention to the evaluation in the Evaluation section.
This recording sheet may be used at this early stage and subsequently at intervals, throughout the year to measure awareness and learning, as a
result of the activities carried out.

This fourth series of lessons based around the theme of the media will provide you with starting points for the exploration of issues associated with the influence of media on people‘s perceptions of culture. Each series of lessons will address these overall aims

• to encourage students to appreciate how they
themselves are different, contributing to a climate of respect for the differences present within the class.
• to prepare students for intercultural living in society.

Each activity will have identifiable objectives, associated materials and tasks and will provide the students with the opportunity to upload their individual or collective responses to the website www.niclr.com/NetConnect. It is worth noting that some of this material is designed to challenge the accepted, or indeed your own view. Use the differences as a basis for further exploration and discussion. Much of the material contained in this section needs to be handled sensitively by the teacher. The‘I- Wonderwall‘ crossword puzzle has been developed to be completed in conjunction with the text from the Paul Connolly website. For those students who may find the website text difficult a simplified Heads and Tails activity has been developed, where the students match beginnings and endings of sentences.
